Made in the small town of Elmira, Ontario, this distinctive and memorable anise-flavoured confection has quickly garnered a dedicated following since its creation in 2007.

Forget what you think you know about licorice. This candy is not your grandparents' black licorice of yesteryear. This is the licorice of a new generation. The mellower flavour and creamy texture lends itself to a broader range of tastes and is enjoyed by people of all ages.

Inspired by fond memories from the 60’s, of the black licorice milkshakes that were a regular family Sunday treat at a local ice cream shop in Kitchener, Ontario, the delicious combination of licorice and cream has experienced a rebirth.

The opportunity to revive the popularity of anise occurred in 2007, during the development of a recipe for a licorice cheesecake for a friend. It wasn't long before the leap from cheesecake to candies was made and after dabbling with many different combinations, the core line of flavours was chosen.

The flagship of our line of anise confections, "Heavenly," was so named because of the initial reaction of many first-time customers. "Oh my! This is heavenly," was heard so often, we had to give the candy that name.
